The Charge Nurse is responsible for theoverall nursing care/service on his/her shift, which includes the supervisionof other professional and non-professional team members.

Administers medications being careful tofollow all physician orders, policies/procedures, and regulations2.
Completes accurate, complete, and timelyresident assessments, identifies resident needs, and plans, implements andevaluates nursing care 3.
Completes accurate, complete, timely, legibledocumentation 4.
Coordinates resident care under the directionof the resident's physician including calling physicians, implementingphysician orders, physician rounds, consults, other services in Concordia'scontinuum of care, rewrites5.
Supervises the care provided on the unitincluding monitoring quality of care, monitoring completion/accuracy of NurseAide documentation, coaching, counseling, delegation, coverage for call-offs6.
Provides resident care, treatments andprocedures 7.
Communicates resident care informationproactively and professionally to physicians, residents, families, and othermembers of the health care team to keep them aware of changes in the resident'scare plan, condition, incidents, needs, and problem resolution8.
Commits to high ethical standards andcomplies with the Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, accreditationstandards and Concordia policies and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality of resident andemployee records and information.
Has aduty to report compliance concerns, significant legal risk questions, fraud,abuse, suspected or actual misconduct to a supervisor/manager or to theCorporate Compliance Officer.
Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsSPEAKING Ability to speak clearly and effectively with residents,families, coworkers and other groups of customers.
Ability to read and interpret documents suchas safety rules, policies and procedures, and operating instructions.

Near/far acuity and depth perception are required to operate equipment.

Ability to liftup to 50 pounds or move up to 50 pounds independently.

WORKING ENVIRONMENTTemperaturerange from outside seasonal temperatures to inside temperatures of 65-80degrees, varying if you work in laundry or kitchen.

May be exposed to bloodand body fluids, which may contain HIV and/or HBV.
May be exposed to combative residents.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
